George Departs for Columbia

First video blog update from a trip to the Midlands in the Palmetto State.

We’re video blogging this week from a trip to the Media and Civil Rights History Symposium at the University of South Carolina.  It’s also the site of the AEJMC Southeast Colloquium.  AEJMC stands for the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.

While I typically go to Columbia almost every year for the Convergence Journalism Conference (the last time was in October of 2010), this trip is unusual because it is in the Spring months, when the South Carolina legislature is in session.  We’ll updates throughout the next three days.

There’s also another reason why today is significant.
